Like every mother, I want what is best for my children. It doesn’t matter that they were relinquished. It doesn’t matter that their names were changed. It doesn’t matter if they were parented by others. Adoption was promised to be a “better life” for our children.
Legal discrimination should not be part of that equation. And while we cannot undo the past, there is at least one thing that can be changed. Our children’s civil rights can be restored, but not if we allow lies and fears and secrecy to be forced upon us again. Stand up for your child. As a mother, sign your name to our campaign. We need to tell legislators that we will not be marginalized once more.

By signing on, your name will be added to this poster and to other written materials that will be shared with legislators, all with the same message: hiding mothers under the guise of “privacy” is simply another way to marginalize and silence everyone.
